Wonderful images from Vienna’s Eurovision countdown

VIENNA, AUSTRIA – The capital of Austria is gearing up for Eurovision Song Contest and it’s time to kick off the countdown. The grand clock started to count the days to the final just in the very centre of the city. With 135 days to the Grand Final of the 60th Eurovision Song Contest, Vienna gets colours of black and purple while the city is still in snow.
The clock is 8 meters high and covered by LEDs is installed in the Town Hall Square. When the Host City Insignia takes place on January 26th takes place, the clock will be revamped by counting days, hours, minutes and seconds. The countdown tower has a total weight of 4,900 kg and is completely weatherproof and can withstand wind speeds up to 130 km/h!
