Who should represent Slovenia in Vienna?
EDITORIAL – Slovenia will select it’s representative on February 28th and 12 acts will fight to be the next representative of the Balkan country. Six of them will be selected from the 154 songs that came from public call and six more by the special call from RTV SLO. We would like to share with you, which artists we would like to see competing.
First up is Alya. She has already participated in EMA couple times. She is one of the trendy artists these days in Slovenia, she had a lot of hit songs in last few years and in 2012 and 2013, her songs were hits of the year. Video for her latest single Car was recorded in an airplane 4500 ft above ground.
Nika Zorjan was one of the backing vocalist for Tinkara in Copenhagen. She is young, she is popular and she CAN sing. She shot her glory in Misja Evrovizija, Slovenian reality show national final from 2012. Her latest single Po Dežju has a very interesting video.
Maja Keuc rocked the stage in Düsseldorf in Christina Aguilera style. She once again showed her skills at last year’s EMA when she presented her single Close To You. There is no doubt that she would do well in Eurovision once again.
It is not a secret that Omar Naber wants to come back to Eurovison stage. He already tried it, but without luck. So we believe that he will participate again this year. Here is his last EMA entry.
Rudi Bučar performed last year along with the band Elevators, but this year we would like to see him as a solo contestant. He was a backing vocalist for Alenka Gotar in 2007, so he has some Eurovision experience, what can be very helpful. Here is one of his latest songs.
Tina Maze is an Olympic Champion, but she also can sing. Her first single got over 700K views in less than two weeks, what is amazing as Slovenia has just over 2 million inhabitants. She would definitely got a lot of attention if she is one of the contestants.
Let’s not forget the authors also. Matjaž & Urša Vlašić, Andrej Babić, Raay, Saša Lendero and Martin Štibernik all had amazing songs in Slovenian national final. Some of their songs even won in Slovenia and other countries, so they do know how to write a song perfect for Eurovision.
