Who should represent Greece in Vienna?
EDITORIAL – Last week it was officially announced that Greece will finally participate at the Eurovision song contest. From that day NERIT and MAD TV are getting ready for the 2015 edition discussing with record labels and artists their participation at the Greek national selection. Several names are discussed among journalists and fans, and it is true that some of them have already replied that if they find the “right song” they will beat in order to represent Greece. These my 10 personal favorites for which you can have a say in the poll bellow
Demy: The “princess of Greek pop” is toping all charts with every single song she releases. 7 number one hits in 4 years and one international hit with the song “Fallin” makes for many Demy the ideal Greek entry. Young, beautiful with a great voice we really can’t find a reason someone wouldn’t vote for her.
Tamta: She tried to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 7 years ago and from that day many are wishing her to come back to the national selection with an uptempo song. This year she was also the wining judge at the Georgian edition of the x-factor show giving her one more reason to represent Greece since high points from Georgia would be more than sure if she is the one.
Eleni Foureira: The most sexy Greek performer makes everyone hold their breath when she appears on stage. Two weeks ago she officially admitted that she was born in Albania while her personal life is on the front page of life style magazines almost every week. We don’t know what the result will be if she is the one but what we know for sure is that Greek press will get insane. (officially Eleni is out of the race for Greece)
VEGAS: The lead singer of the group is one of the best singers we have ever heard, while the group has some really nice songs with “pio psila” being their massive hit two years ago. With a song like that we believe they could really do well.
Melisses: The group participated in the Greek national selection 4 years ago, but then the song was nothing special. From that day they have released numerous hits, while every year they are awarded in the Mad Video Music Awards as the “best Greek group”.
Despina Vandi: The absolute Greek diva has hosted the Greek national selection in 2013 and 2014.She is the “dream entry” of many eurofans for several years while her song “Hano esena” that topped all Greek charts and her participation as a judge at the Greek edition of the “Voice” show brought for one more time all the spotlights on her.
Sakis Rouvas: The host of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest and the representative of the Greece at the 2004 and 2009 edition is a performer that many would love to see again. Even though many believe that this would be impossible the fact that he hasn’t released a single hit for the last 3 years could be a reason for him to enter the contest if he finds the right song.
Boys and Noise: We really hope that their fun club would not find out the existence of this poll, but if they do you will immediately understand. They have the strongest fan club that any other singer ever had in Greece and if they decide to enter the selection the problem would be that no one else would like to participate since the result would be for sure in favor of them.
Eleonora Zouganeli: Although she admitted she wouldn’t like to go to Eurovision several times in her statements, she is a singer that sings about emotions and with her smooth voice she could somehow be appealing to the international audience although not sure if singing in Greek will help.
Natassa Bofiliou: In terms of quality singing Natassa is considered the best singer in Greece at the moment with many hits as well and massive sales in every concert she is giving. She is a Greek Marilyn Monroe as she is performing emotional ballads adopting the look of the Hollywood star. She was also asked about Eurovision by the press saying she is not keen to the project at the moment. Her voice though makes her special and she should be a Greek representative someday to the contest!
