Which version will Edurne use in Vienna?
MADRID, SPAIN – In the weeks prior to release, RTVE had promoted hype about the song that Edurne would take to Vienna for Eurovision 2015. Amanecer (Dawn) was released last week to very little acclaim from both fans and media alike.
On the 4th March, Edurne recorded an acoustic version of the song with the RTVE Orchestra which was then released as a video showing the difference in tone and style of the song.
This immediately resulted in a more positive response from fans and media alike. So positive has been the response around this version of the song, that Edurne and her team are considering taking this version to Vienna instead of the original one.
Tony Sánchez Ohlsson, one of the composers of the song likes this version but it was not the intended result as “we never wanted another Quédate conmigo“. Either way a decision will be made as a group although it’s clear that there is split opinion among the team.
Edurne’s management would like to see a more symphonic version, more emotive than the pop version originally released.
The decision will be made in due course, RTVE have until the 16th March to handover the final version of Amanecer although they can request an extension, other countries have previously done so. Either way, the final version is likely to be a mix between the symphonic version and the pop version.
