When Blue’s Duncan James shared his coming out
LONDON, UNITED KINGOM – Member of British boy band Blue, Duncan James, who represented the UK at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, has shared his coming out story for a good cause. Duncan revealed how he was exposed as being bisexual by “The News of theWorld” after a four year same-sex relationship.
He shared his story for the Albert Kennedy Trust which helps young homeless LGBT people. Duncan says, “When I was about 26 years old, after having a secret four year relationship with a guy. I thought maybe I’d be gay bashed in the street. People shout “queer” as I walked down the street. You know I had all these fears in my head that all these horrible things were about to happen. It wasn’t until I was 30 when The News of the World ran a story on me. That was when the bisexual story was released to the public”.
