What’s the scoreboard looking like as of 1957?
Olivier Rocher (France)
EDITORIAL – Let’s us not forget that 2015 is a Jubilee year for Eurofans with the 60th editions of our favourite Tv show. For the occasion, website justanotherlight.com had the clever idea of establishing the all time top of Eurovision.
No mention of victories here (we all know that Ireland still is in the lead with its 7 trophies). All the points from 1957 to 2014 were added in order to make this chart. The very first contest, the 1956 edition, was not included since no point were given that year.
With 3844 points, the UK is the clear leader, followed by Sweden (3763), Ireland (3292), France (3079) and Germany (3064).
The current holder of the Grand Prix, Austria is 19th with 1660 points only. Let’s not forget that despite Conchita’s overwhelming victory, the country has rarely been in the top 10…
What country is last then ? Well it seems that Morocco (with its 7 point) is the ugly duckling. Of course, the Kingdom only took part once !
Now, if someone feels like a statistician tonight, the very same chart, but taking into account the number of participations this time, could be even more interesting…
We must underline that one country is missing. So let me do the job… with a total of 10 points the Czech Republic should be in 49th position (and Morocco would remain last).
