Waylon abandons The Common Linnets project
AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – Waylon broke his silence after several days of speculations which emerged after his refusal to participate in the small European tour of The Common Linnets.
During the European tour in Austria and Germany, The Common Linnets were teamed by Ilse DeLange, JB Meijers and Jake Etheridge while Waylon was not part of them without any reason given.
Though through Facebook, Waylon explained everything saying that the Common Linnets success was a surprise for him as well although he postponed his solo album release “Heaven after Midnight” and concluded with the statement that Isle DeLange is free to do whatever she wants with The Common Linnets project as he has no time to get involved anymore.
WAYLON’S FACEBOOK STATEMENT
I would have been able and willing to make more time for The Common Linnets, if this would’ve happened based on creative equality, also abroad. Ilse and I have spoken about this for a long time, but so far we have not managed to work it out. This has nothing to do with money, but with the emotional commitment of two people in a solid formation, where we would have to put our solo careers on hold for now.
It is clear though that Waylon will attend the Tuckerville concert, on 21 June in Enschede, The Netherlands as originally planned where it will be his last appearance as part of The Common Linnets.
