OLIVIER: A WELL-BALANCED ACT
The twins are in the place for, once again, a rather well thought performance for Russia (maybe too thought actually). The vocals are really great, the staging is memorable and duality definitely is the motto of the act. But I should point out some details that prevent “Shine” from being a VERY good act. First, what are those glass sticks for? One could expect a pole dance with them! Second, who’s asked the hairdresser to turn the twins into capillary siamese sisters, the effect is just useless. Finally, the act is too mechanical, as if the girls had been trained like 1980’s soviet gymnasts… it simply lacks authenticity. On the other hand, the huge balance on stage is just great (with the exception of this giant sun that one of the backing vocalists has to rush closing at the end). Overall that’s a strong performance that will get a well-deserved place in the final!
FOTIS: INTERNATIONAL TEAM SHINING ON STAGE
I have to start this review with a statement. I’m sto happy to be back with the twins after I experienced first hand their Junior Eurovision 2006 triumph in Budapest. The staging is amazing with a ballance prop and an excellent concept of Fokas Evagelinos for the stage presentation. Although I cannot say I am fanned of the clothes I love the idea with the interaction of the hair. Most important for me is that their voices are amazing, those two sweet girls grew up and became professional singers.
