ROME, ITALY – Raphael Gualazzi, the 2011 Italian representative who highlighted Italy’s return to the contest with a remarkable second position in Düsseldorf, is back with a new EP called « Rainbows » (premiered on October 29th).
This project, named after one of Gualazzi’s last album songs, consists in 4 tracks « Rainbow » (a duo with French singer Camille), « Legba » and « Svalutation » (a cover of Adriano Celentano). The 4th song is a cover of one of the most famous French songs ever, Charles Trenet’s « La Mer » (The Sea). It is naturally entitled « Il Mare » and is given a sweet jazzy touch.
In the meantime, Raphael is highly rumoured to take part to Sanremo Festival this year again, a festival he won in 2011 (in the newcomer category) with « Follia d’Amore » (Madness Of Love) ,a song that would eventually become his Eurovision entry. He also took part last year, in the Big category and finished in 5th position with « Sai, Ci Basta Un Sogno » (You Know We Only Need A Dream).
For once a French classical is covered with talent! Grazie Signore Gualazzi! The 4 «Rainbow» tracks are available on YouTube. Enjoy!
