VERY LOW INTEREST IN MOLDOVA FOR 2014
CHISINAU, MOLDOVA – Local press (ProTV.md) reported today that the interest for the Moldovan national selection is extremely low, popular fan site, wiwibloggs reported few minutes ago.
Only two applications have been submitted for O Melodie Pentru Europa 2014, reports claim three weeks after the submissions opened. The deadline is set for January 23rd and TRM will be forced either to extend the deadline or to appoint internally the Eurovision 2014 representative.
Last year’s rules made several popular artists withdraw as TRM stated that the artist might not sing his own bid entry but a song that TRM and government official will decide. This rule seems to have been removed this year and higher number of submissions were expected.
There’s no official statement from TRM on the issue (yet)
