UNITED KINGDOM – Senior TV producer Guy Freeman is leaving the BBC to launch a new co-venture with Hat Trick Productions and talent agent Anita Land.

Freeman is editor, formats & special events at BBC Studios, and recently put together the BBC One New Yearโ€™s Eve concert featuring Nile Rodgers. He will leave the BBC in February.

He has also overseen the At The BBC series, the BBCโ€™s Eurovision coverage and One Love: Manchester. Previous credits include the BRIT Awards, BBC Music Awards and Let It Shine. Freeman spent three years as controller music & events at ITV.

Freeman said: โ€œAt BBC Studios I’ve been lucky to have worked with some incredibly talented people, on a whole range of programmes that I’m extremely proud of. However, the chance to build a new company, creating more of the shows and events I love, at such a dynamic time in our business, with the support of Jimmy and Hat Trick, is simply too good to miss.โ€

Jimmy Mulville, Hat Trick MD, said: โ€œGuy is a proven creative leader with an unrivalled track record in big entertainment shows. Announcing this bold new venture with him and Anita Land is the perfect way to start 2018.โ€

Livewire Pictures will operate out of Hat Trick’s offices in Camden. Hat Trick International will have an exclusive distribution agreement with the company.
