Ukraine 🇺🇦 denies rumours for not broadcasting the Russian participation
UKRAINE – Following the Russian based rumours that Ukraine will not broadcast the Russian performance in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest as Julia Saoylova remains a controversy person in Ukraine, Ukrainian national broadcaster made it clear that the broadcast of the Eurovision 2018 will take place completely as normal and there will be no exception.
After all a different move could end up into disqualifying Ukraine from participating in Lisbon. The Russian decision to send to Lisbon, Julia Samoylova wasn’t a surprise as Channel One said so, already back in 2017, seems not to be a thrilling idea for the Ukrainians.
In the meantime Ukrainian national television President Zurab Alasania announced that the EBU reduced the 198,000 Euros fine to Ukraine to 150,000. The fine was mainly imposed for the case of Julia Samoylova. Mr Alasania explained though in today’s statements that Ukraine will also appeal to the decision in order to cancel the fine.
