INSTABUL, TURKEY – Today Turkish national broadcast re affirmed their decision not to participate in Eurovision Song Contest 2014 as oikotimes.com reported on September 14th. The reasons are the same: they don’t want juries and the BIG 5 system.

While the Turkish fans are furious with the absence of TRT from Eurovision Song Contest, TRT’s general director Ibrahim Sahin revealed today that the country is not about to make a come back in Copenhagen as the current voting system is unchanged. The statement was clear: abolish the juries and the BIG 5!

“Five countries directly entering the grand final in this competition is unfair. If this system countinues, we will not take part… We are waiting for changes to the current voting system before a final decision is reached. Time is not over yet however, there is still a chance we can participate next year ”

  1. i agree with Turkey!! i can accept the fact of Big5…but the juries should be abolished! the fixed up the results! Greece was 3rd on 2011 , 2013 but because od the juries we finished 9 and 6! also in the bad year of greece on 2013 we were 9th in televoting but in juries 20 (i suppose)! and please…dotn tell me about greek diaspora…because in the years 2002,2003 we should be in top 10…but we were 17th! Greece did something smart and clever! decided to send famous in greece singers and catchy songs and the viewers in europe vote us!
