The Makemakes meet Monika in Krakow
KRAKOW, POLAND – Today a special press conference was held at Krakow’s Pod Różą Hotel. Austrian national broadcaster and TVP organised a joined press conference regarding the 60th Eurovision Song Contest while the two countries’ representatives The Makemakes and Monika Kuszyńska attended and met the press and media.
ORF’s Roman Horacek presented to the Polish media a short presentation of what will happen in Vienna next May focusing on the organise materials used in the event as part of the Green Event promo, dealing with the waste management of food and materials. Though there still going to be fireworks used but still the 60th edition of Eurovision Song Contest will be the most green event ever made.
Mr Horacek also revealed that the entire contest will be translated into the sign language following the examples of Sweden where a parallel transmission took place. Discussing the budget of the contest overall ORF’s representative said that the final cost is set to 25 million Euros, 10 of which gathered by the participation fees and sponsors plus from the Vienna Administration through various benefits and exchange activities.
Following that Dominic Muhrer, he lead singer of The Makemakes greeted the Polish fans and media feeling happy with the visit to Poland which he considers a city worth of walking. The 2015 Polish representative, Monika Kuszyńska greeted the Austrian representatives and praised their collaboration for this press conference saying that the motto of #buildingbridges is working perfectly so far. Monika also revealed that when TVP called her to propose her the Eurovision 2015 bid, she accepted immediately without thinking of it.
In addition, Austrian parliamentary deputy Susanne Blum spoke to the Polish press and the Austrian and Polish representatives performed their Eurovision songs.
