GERMANY – With an international jury, Germany is gearing up for the national final in 2018. There will be a 100 member jury from Europe and an international jury alongside the tele voting.
The European jury will represent the taste of the European viewers. The international jury will be made out of 20-25 people with members who have previously participated in the Eurovision Song Contest across Europe.
ARD’s Thomas Schreiber says that the last few months there were intense discussions about advises and criticism we received. The goal is a new start., nothing to do with what we saw in the previous years with a combination of passion, understanding and analysis. German goal is to address the international audience and competition.
Submissions for the German national final is due on November 6th at 12:00 local time. There will be 20 finalists for the next phase by the European jury and then the NDR will evaluate the finalists based on vocal skills, stage possibilities.
Then European and international jury will select the five finalists and NDR will decide the song for each of these five participants.
