HUNGARY – X factor Hungary participant Barbi Opitz claims that she is participating in the Hungarian national selection. This marks the first name for A Dal 2018. She is bidding for Hungarian selection with a song penned by Krisztián Burai.
BELARUS – BTRC is officially calling for a theme for the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest edition. The Belarusian national broadcaster calls designers from all over the country to submit logo and motto for the next JESC edition. Winner team will join the creative team of JESC 2018. Submissions due on November 15th and can be made at firstname.lastname@example.org.
RUSSIA – According to local press, Julia Samoilova is re assuring her fans in the social media that despite the lack of an official announcement she will be in Lisbon representing Russia in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. In a recent statement in the social media Yulia says: “Yes, folks, we are going to Eurovision. What kind of song is not yet known, we’re searching for songwriters. I have not finished my songs yet … and who knows, maybe it will turn out that one of these songs will go to Eurovision.” Russia’s Channel One is the broadcaster which will participate in this year’s Eurovision edition although it was the turn of RTR. This happened due to the 2017 crisis which forced Russia to withdraw.
BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA – Dalal Midhat, one of the 2016 participants in the Eurovision Song Contest released her first English single titled “Never Give Up”. The song’s message is about how important organ donation and transplanting is, an issue not yet fully regulated in the country.
