ATHENS, GREECE – It was leaked on the web moments ago the name of the 3rd participant for the upcoming Greek National Final. The official announcements, though, will take place in few days when and if NERIT will legally finalise it’s agreement with MAD TV. After Kostas Martakis and Krystalia, Josephine is added in the line up for the ticket to Copenhagen.

Josephine is an upcoming new artist by Panik Records, the record label which sponsors the Greek participation on the road to Copenhagen just like last year. She is a new artist who recently made her debut with famous artist OGE, as well as one of MAD TV’s news anchorwoman.

The Greek National Final is set for March 4th (provisional date) while the debate on the venue is ongoing as there are efforts to move the show to a larger venue. Still Gazi Music Hall remains a safe option for the show in case there isn’t an alternative solution.

Regarding the 4th act it seems it will be an upcoming boy band. Names like Wedding Singers, Melisses, Eleni Foureira and Demy, already denied rumours on participations, despite what some sites may mention!

Neither NERIT or MAD TV confirm or deny the information as the line up is still open to further discussions and negotiations.

ATHENS, GREECE – The Greek national broadcaster NERIT is surely ready to be back in business when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. EBU and NERIT upon special agreement will join forces for the upcoming Eurovision edition and Greece will be present in Copenhagen.

The Greek national final is also gearing up and the plans for the show are underway. This year Greece will celebrate “40 Years in Eurovision” as the country debuted back in 1974. NERIT is expected to solve all technical and legal details and most likely will collaborate with MAD TV again (outsourcing the production of the show) ager last year’s successful result.

There is though a very preliminary date for the Greek national final. Preliminary thoughts are claiming to have the national final either on 3rd or 4th of March. The date is not yet decided!

ATHENS, GREECE – The anticipation for the four names for the Greek National Final 2014 gears up as soon they will be announced but first Greek national broadcaster has to officially appoint MAD TV as the production company of the national selection show. Immediately when this happens, MAD TV in association again with PANIK Records will announced the four names for the Greek selection.

The two names so far almost confirmed seems to be Kostas Martakis and Krystalia (former lead singer of Otherview band). Two more artists are in negotiations with the record company.

Today though an artist the name of which is rumoured for two years now as Eurovision representative, Demy, responded today whether this year she will enter the national selection.

Demy speaking to Greek media said that she is still not ready for Eurovision Song Contest, not mature enough to support a project like that but she is sure that when the time comes she and her team will proudly represent Greece in the ultimate European music competition.

Demy is the second name officially refuting participation plans to Greek National Final after recent statements by Eleni Foureira, another popular upcoming artist who’s tipped also for 3 years now to enter the Greek national selection although she participated as feature act in Greek NF in 2010 alongside to Manos Pyrovolakis.

For those not remembering Demy, you can see the video from her duet with Dima Bilan in the 2013 National Final, Eurosong 2013 – a MAD show where she gave a great performance on stage.

ATHENS, GREECE – With the confirmation of the Greek national broadcaster (NERIT) and it’s interim DT, the country is now gearing up for the anticipating national final, a show which will celebrate the 40 years of Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest and will select it’s entrant and song for Copenhagen amongst 4 acts which will soon be announced.

The main issue for the national broadcaster of Greece is who’s going to take over the production of the show. It seems that MAD TV will be given the outsourcing of the production. The venue for the Greek national final is yet another issue as there is a new venue in the plans the announcement of which is still pending due to availability problems as the organisers need to fix the date first.

The hosts though seem to have been chosen. Like last year Yorgos Kapoutzides (Greek NF host 2006, 2013) will be joined again by famous Greek singer Despina Vandi on the Greek National Final stage.

In the names of the participants so far things go towards four names two of which are highly rumoured amongst the news desks all over the country: Kostas Martakis and Krystalia (former lead singer of group Otherview).

ATHENS, GREECE – We can now officially confirm that the European Broadcasting Union accepts the current interim national broadcaster of Greece, HPRT (Hellenic Public Radio Television) also known as DT, as the Greek national broadcaster eligible to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The tele-conference of NERIT’s President George Prokopakis and ERT Asset Manager with the EBU ended in an agreement and in a few days EBU and DT will reach an official agreement. EBU originally reacted negatively to the invasion of the police at the former ERT premises with EBU’s president Mr Philippot saying that the European Broadcasting Union will not allow DT as active member.

Within the agreement it was decided that DT will not pay for an EBU fee (350,000) for the previous months allowing the interim national broadcaster to find the necessary funds to become an active member of the EBU and also to participate in Eurovision 2014.

Unlike to what is reported Kostas Martakis and Krystalia are highly tipped for the Greek national selection. Rumours about Eleni Foureira and Demy once again are completely untrue. The most likely scenario is that MAD TV will once again produce the national final for Greece and the official details for the national selection, date and participants are really close to be revealed!

Stay tuned… news are coming in!
