SWITZERLAND – Internally chosen by the SRF to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Luca Hänni is back on the Eurovision tour … after being sworn in 2016 and spokesman for the country’s jury in the 2017 Grand Final. However, what were Luca Hänni’s favorite candidates at the Eurovision 2016?
Bulgaria! “If Love Is a Crime” was Luca Hänni’s favorite in the Stockholm Final, but the Bulgarian bid received only 1 point from the Swiss jury. Israel and Australia, third and first in the jury, respectively, followed in the preferences of the singer.
On the other hand, Ukraine, the winner of the edition, was not beyond the 18th place in the voting of Luca, while Russia, represented by Sergey Lazarev, was in 21st place. Austria, ranked 7th in the Swiss jury, Armenia and Georgia took the last places in the vote.
In the second semifinal, Luca Hänni’s maximum score went to “I’ve Been Waiting for This Night”, Lithuania’s song, followed by Israel and Bulgaria in the singer’s preferences.
Slovenia, tenth in their vote, was the only country in the top 10 for the Grand Final, while Serbia, ranked sixteenth in their vote, was booked with three points from the Swiss jury and maximum score of the televote.
