Switzerland 2018: we can even win in Lisbon, says Reto Peritz
SWITZERLAND – Swiss national broadcaster SRF and it’s Eurovision Head of Delegation Reto Peritz, are eager to reverse the bad results the country has in Eurovision Song Contest and why not, even win the trophy!
Speaking to Blick.ch, Reto Peritz said that Switzerland is eager to change the format of the national selection and try to qualify this time in the Eurovision Grand Final: “It is our duty to qualify for the final! After failing to qualify in 2010, Sweden decided to make some changes in their national selection. After this, they have achieved great results every year. This is what SRF wants to do. In Lisbon everything is possible, even a victory”
Swiss broadcaster kicked off the national selection on September 1st by opening the submissions for the composers. This time SRF is about to select separately the singer and the song to find the bet combination. The evaluation will take place by an independent jury consisted of 20 members. the plan is to have a national final on February 4th where an international jury and tele voting will decide the winner among participants who sign the most fit song for them.
Peritz doesn’t hide his ambition to win after the Portuguese achievement this year in Kyiv. Having in mind that for three years the country misses the final.
