Switzerland 2018: songwriting camp underway in Maur
SWITZERLAND – The quest for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest entry begins in Switzerland as a songwriting camp kicks off in Maur. During the workshop session, 15 songs will be composed to be submitted in the national selection process. Swiss society of songwriters, SUISA aims to create authentic songs, fit for radio and why not international hits. The workshop is organised in teams of 3-5 individuals of singers, authors, groups. In three days, each team has to produce their songs.
September 22nd marks the day when the expert panel of the national broadcaster will listen to the submitted songs and will decide which six of them will proceed to the final which is set for February 4th. The final representative to Eurovision Song Contest will be determined by jury and televising in 50% ratio respectively.
Submissions begin on September 1st and due on September 22nd. Swiss citizens will have a priority in the selection although international authors are also welcomed. Demo submissions should also indicate if the demo singer wishes to compete in potential selection or not.
