Switzerland 2016: we interviewed Stanley Miller (Chipper)
KRAUZLINGEN, SWITZERLAND – The team of oikotimes.com had the chance to interview one of the candidates for the 2016 Swiss national preselection. Stanley Miller (aka Chipper) submitted the song “Feel The Love” in the preliminaries of the national preselection and now is under public voting at SRF website.
How did you decide to submit a song for the Swiss preselection and not in Spain?
When I discovered that the Swiss preselection was an open selection, I thought that I would try my luck with this process… especially knowing that Celine Dion who is one of my favorite artist did the same process and eventually won Eurovision for Swiss.
How would you describe “Feel the love” the song that you have presented to the Swiss national final?
For me “FEEL THE LOVE” is a song with a message not only for all of Europe, but the message is for all the world. We all need to feel the love because I believe that it is the most important feeling that we can have as humans.
Have you tried to participate in Eurovision before?
Last year I sent a song to the pre-selection of Spain, but the finalist were already basically chosen.
How will you convince the Swiss audience, that an American singer based in Spain should represent Switzerland in Eurovision?
I believe that my performance ability, quality, and my charisma will be enough to convince the Swiss audience that I should represent them in Eurovision.
What did you like best and least of Eurovision 2015?
Honestly, the only thing that I least like is that sometimes the voting seems to be a little political at times…I would love to see the people not vote just for their neighboring countries, but voting for the true best song and performance. What I do simply like about Eurovision is the electric energy from the public and from the fans that give so much energy to the performers.
How do you imagine the scenario in Eurovision 2016 if you get to represent Switzerland in Eurovision? Have in mind some staging for “Feel the love”?
Everytime that I listen to “FEEL THE LOVE”, I imagine the staging and my performance to be extremely exciting! I want the audience to actually feel the love that I am feeling!
What do you think is your biggest professional achievement to date?
There are actually 2 things that I consider to be my biggest professional achievements…the first is that I was a cast member in the National Broadway Tour of the musical RENT…and the second is that I was a finalist in “Operacion Triunfo” in Spain.
Australia last year participated as a guest in Eurovision 2015. What do you think about a possible US participation in Eurovision? Who could be the singer chosen?
WOW! That would be amazing and I think the singer chosen could be someone like Shoshana Bean…google her, she is amazing!
What is your message for the Swiss audience you like to share through oikotimes.com?
If I am chosen by the Swiss audience to represent them in Eurovision, I want everyone to know that I would give a performance full of heart, professionalism, energy, and quality! I would honor the opportunity and cherish it as a dream come true! I want the world to FEEL THE LOVE with us!
