Switzerland 2015: songs review and online prediction
ZÜRICH, SWITZERLAND – That’s it, we have the line-up of the Swiss selection show “Die Entscheidungsshow”. Even though many were disappointed by the decision of the expert check last Sunday, let’s say that we have a better selection than previous years.
Timebelle – “Singing About Love”: Well that’s what we could call Alpine pop, 50% Katy Perry, 50% Heidi! It’s a rather pleasant and catchy track that can be seen as an early favourite. Timebelle has a nice voice and can deliver a quite energetic performance.
Andy McSean – “Hey Now”: Another pop act, a bit more mature than the previous one. Arrangements are good and Andy is a great performer. Not sure though this one could stand out on Eurovision stage.
Tiziana – “Only Human”: A simple, pure and beautiful ballad that can be seen as the dark horse. It’s actually so simple and moving that we can already imagine the young girl standing alone on stage in Vienna and grabbing the audience with a moving performance.
Licia Chery – “Fly”: A nice classy voice for a rather blank song. The whole track is a bit messy, especially at the end. Nothing special here I’m afraid though Licia definitely knows how to sing and groove.
Mélanie René – “Time To Shine”: That song is not bad at all, but definitely not appealing enough to stand a real chance in the competition. It’s a bit messy and depressing at times, but, once again, the performance is flawless.
Deborah Bough – “Tale Me Back To 23”: Groove is the leitmotiv here. This song is definitely something else, and Deborah can do the show. Nevertheless, it’s a bit old-fashioned in my opinion.
To make it short, let’s say that Timebelle and Tiziana are the early favourites. But remember, if there is a national final with an outcome that is particularly hard to predict, that’s the Swiss one. Let’s wait for the final on January 31st to discover the name of the 56th Swiss entrant!
