Sweden 2019 🇸🇪 Melodifestivalen dates and cities announced
SWEDEN – SVT confirmed today the cities, venues and. dates for the 2019 Melodifestivalen, through which once again the country will decide its participant and song for the Eurovision Song Contest. We know that usually the Melodifestivalen dates indicate the last country to decide for Eurovision as the week after #melfest final, EBU’s Head of Delegations meeting is taking place. That meeting is usually taking place 2 months exactly before the Eurovision Song Contest, something that could indicate that Eurovision 2019 dates could be May 14, 16, 18.
Back to Melodifestivalen as 28 acts will complete for the ticket to Israel. Held inn different cities across the country, is the top music event of the country, completely associated with the record labels by which there is huge support in the entire branding of the show. Despite last year’s low TV rates, it remains the most anticipated event of. the country and one of the most anticipated national selection in Europe, setting high standards of selection for almost all European nations.
Remember that submissions for 2019 Melodifestivalen due on September 17th. On November SVT will announce the participants of 2019 Melodifestivalen (27 of them, since the 28th act has bend decided by P4 Nästa) and the hosts. We are also awaiting to see how Edward af Sillén will contribute on the 2019 Melodifestivalen which suffered in TV ratings with local press mainly criticising the host David Lindgren as mediocre host. Melodifestivalen 2019 tickets go o sale on 31/10.
