Sweden 2016: SVT receives 2,450 songs
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – The deadline for submitting songs for 2016 Melodifestivalen concluded and SVT proudly announce they received 2,450 songs. One of them will represent the Eurovision 2016 host country in the contest next Mat.
From the 2,450 submitted entries, 1982 are from established artists and 468 from newcomers and public entries. The submissions are more than 2015 when 2,177 songs submitted, something that Christer Björkman justifies as a high interest to get the ticket to perform as a host country representative.
Björkman is not hiding the fact that he would like to win again in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. SVT will reveal the songs next month and by the end of the year the artists.
