Spain 2018 🇪🇸 Pastora Soler visits Operación Triunfo students
SPAIN – As TVE continue to focus on Operación Triunfo (Fame Academy) being their national final to choose who will represent Spain in Lisbon, it only seems appropriate that the show had Pastora Soler appear to offer advice to the participants.
Roberto Leal, the Operación Triunfo presenter confirmed that the show would choose the representative for Spain at Eurovision 2018, something which had been claimed last year when the show was announced to return to TVE.
Pastora Soler told the potential finalists that Eurovision is an experience which must be taken and that it involves long days and lots of work. There is a lot at play and one has to do a lot of promotion not only on stage but in the run-up to the competition itself.
She further confirmed that she would not return to Eurovision, being happy with her performance at the event and of her time on the show.
The fact that an Operación Triunfo contestant will represent Spain at Eurovision is a change to the presence of national finals which had taken place in recent years.
It also means that Spain will be represented by a new name, someone previously unknown to the public at large.
It should be noted that although TVE has done well previously with choosing Operación Triunfo contestants, Spain has not won the competition with the format at senior level, so the pressure will be on this year, especially with the event in neighbouring Portugal.
