Spain 2015: Marta out; Edurne & Pablo in the run
MADRID, SPAIN – The Spanish saga for the Eurovision Song Contest grows as on January 14th TVE is about to make the official announcement on the artist who will proudly represent the country in the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, succeeding Ruth Lorenzo on stage and why not to claim the trophy of the special edition of the show.
For weeks now three names are tipped to represent the country. Edurne, Marta Sanchez and Pablo Alboran were highly tipped by regional press creating a frantic rally in the social media. Well Marta Sanchez is out of the picture after an official statement in her Facebook fan page. She was a strong candidate according to many fans but she claims she was never approached.
Now we know the fact they TVE is negotiating officially with Edurne and Pablo. Edurne confirmed this through an official statement while the name of Pablo Alboran is somehow officially confirmed as well through secure sources. Edurne is already working with Tony Sanchez Ohlsson, the man behind the 2007 and 2010 Eurovision entries.
The selection of the song for Vienna though remains a big mystery. It seems it will be decided through the show “The Hit” but there is no confirmation yet. On the other hand the results of Pastora Soler and Ruth Lorenzo have awaken the entire showbiz in Spain and big names are interested to represent or pen the Eurovision entry this year. This is good news right?
