Spain 2015: Eurofans want Pablo Alborán in Vienna
MADRID, SPAIN – In the last few days Eurovision Spain have held an internal selection which has resulted in Pablo Alboran, a Spanish singer from Malaga being placed as the overwhelming favourite to represent Spain at Eurovision 2015.
In this, the sixth edition of “La Elección Interna” (Internal Selection), readers have voted to confirm who they would like to have represent Spain at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna on the 23rd of May. Pablo Alborán is currently leading the Spanish singles charts and has recently claimed to be focussed on his new album and nothing else.
However this has not stopped people from placing him ahead of Roko, who won this voting contest in 2014 and Edurne, both of these latter performers having found fame on television show “Tu cara me suena” (Your face sounds familiar).
Pablo Alborán had placed third last year but becomes the first male soloist to lead the voting after previous winners Roko (2014), Malú (2013), Chenoa (2011, 2012) and Monica Naranjo (2010). The voting was made up of many former Eurovision hopefuls and representatives from recent years and includes quite a few artists who have recently appeared on music judging programmes.

Alborán began his first world tour on May 27, 2011 in Madrid at the Palacio Vistalegre, and has since performed in many Latin American countries, among which are Argentina, Chile and Mexico. Following his success, he released his first live album, En Acústico, in November of the same year. It included acoustic versions of most of the tracks in his debut album, as well as two new songs and four bonus tracks. The song “Perdóname” (Forgive Me) was re-recorded featuring Portuguese singer Carminho, and was released as the first single of the album, peaking at number one on the Spanish singles chart on November 13, 2011, thus helping En Acústico to debut also at number one on the albums chart one week later, on November 20, 2011, and to top the Portuguese Albums Chart in January 2012.
