SPAIN 2014: LA DAMA’S INTERVIEW
MADRID, SPAIN – Continuing with the Spanish preselection coverage, the team of oikotimes.com is happy to offer an exclusive interview undertaking by Jaime Solloso with La Dama, candidate to represent Spain at Eurovision 2014.
La Dama presents herself to the Spanish preselection for Eurovision 2014 with the song “Estrella Fugaz”. What can you tell us about the song?
It’s a pop-dance theme with a very catchy melody that as the song progresses grows until it makes you dance.
For those who do not know you, you come from a musical background. Do you feel that influences in your musical influences?
My musical influences are very wide, I love music in general and that means that my musical tendencies keep varying.
RTVE has decided to choose a candidate via a national preselection show. What do you feel about this decision?
I feel it’s a fair system. The decision of the public is just as important as that of a profesional jury.
In the last few years the participation of Spain at Eurovision has not been very successful. How can La Dama change this if chosen?
Dama comes full of energy, passion and desire. I aim to leave my skin on the stage.
You present yourself with four other candidates, all of them with the same desire to participate at Eurovision. Do you see a difficult competition?
In general there is a lot of talent, they are artists with a great background and good voices. I respect them all.
Lately in Spain, Eurovision has taken on a secondary role. An example was the problems that were created over the scheduling of a football match. What do you think of this debate?
Personally I think that Eurovision is a very important festival at European level and it should have a televisual presence.
What memories do you have of Eurovision?
In my house it has always been present and I have followed it since I was very young.
This year Eurovision is held in Denmark. What do you think about the winning song by Emmelie de Forest?
I felt that her song as well as her voice was very lovely.
This year, as is expected, many countries will take part in Eurovision. Do you have a favourite country in particular?
I think that the UK was considering Geri Halliwell (ex Spice Girl). I would like to see what she offers.
What can you tell our readers at oikotimes.com?
To all the readers at oikotimes.com. I hope that you like the song that I perform for Eurovision “Estrella Fugaz”. Thank you for your love and support.
