‘ESDM, destino Eurovisión’. This the name chosen for the Spanish national final, which will take place, on Tuesday 26, at TVE Headquarters in Barcelona. Some days ago, we were revealing up the name of one of the jury members, it was Marco Mengoni, this year’s Italian act for Malmö. Today more information has been coming up, and we can reveal the host, the rest of the jury and some singers or bands who will be performing with ESDM as well. TVE is preparing a very promising show!
First of all, the TV presenter chosen for this occassion is not Anne Igartiburu anymore, but Carolina Ferre. Carolina Ferre is a well-known celebrity at the spanish TV, as she has presented lots of TV shows and is not unknown for the Spanish ESC fans, as she presented an special show, replacing Paula Vazquez, back in 2007. But, it was the globally-popular TV show, Tu Cara Me Suena, which gave her, her current popularity. Now, she will be involved again, at Eurovision.
Now, it’s time for the whole jury to be revealed! The jury will be formed by: Rosa López (Spain 2002, 7th place), Jose María Íñigo (Spanish commentator in 2011 and 2012) and Marco Mengoni (Italy 2013 and winner of San Remo 2013 and X Factor Italy 2010). It seems Raquel Del Rosario, was very happy when she noticed about this, as she is very related to San Remo! This people will have a say of the 50% on the final result. The rest will depend on the televoting.
To conclude, as last year’s show, it can be deducted that some special acts will take place as well. We can tell you that each Alex Ubago, Nek, La Musicalité and also the former Spanish representative at Eurovision, Pastora Soler will be singing a song with ESDM. The songs to sing are:
Nek ft. ESDM – Chocar
La Musicalité ft. ESDM – Cuatro Elementos
Alex Ubago ft. ESDM – Ojos De Cielo
Pastora Soler ft. ESDM – Nunca Volvera (this year’s TV gold moment!)
The songs competing are, the romantic ‘Contigo Hasta El Final’ (With You All The Way), a journey of emotions from the epic introduction, with the bagpipes as the protagonist, to make way for half time reaching a pop/rock style, even the song starts as a ballad. ‘Dame Tu Voz’ (Give me your voice) with electronic elements combined with Celtic touches, rockers and catchy melodies, which is characteristic of the group and last but not least, the chosen one by the audience at RTVE.ES, ‘Atrévete’ (Dare), an upbeat song, cheerful and lively, “very Morfeo’s style”, with space for bagpipes, flutes, violins and instruments, where the band is using for the first time, an instrument called, banjo. TVE will probably release all the songs in due time, before the show, but you can still listen to the snippets here.
RTVE.es is preparing a great live coverage for the show, it means that they will be reporting minute by minute from the studios, everything what will be happening on backstage and more, with photos and videos, as well, thanks to a special reporter. All of this will be availabe at their official ESC website: rtve.es/eurovision.
