SMRTV TO COVER ALL THREE SHOWS
CITY OF SAN MARINO, SAN MARINO – This year, the tiniest participating country is making it big for Copenhagen! RTV San Marino has recently revealed that they are going to grant their viewers with 2 teams of commentators. For domestic viewers, a duo of Italian speaking personalities will comment the contest from the RTV studios in San Marino. But who will be sent to Copenhagen then?
In a surprise move, the national broadcaster has decided to hire two English-speaking commentators to comment live from the B&W Hallerne. John Kennedy O’Connor (a famous US based British ESC expert, who was the spokesperson for San Marino in 2013) and Jamarie Milkovic (a Californian branding coach and strategist, and an ESC novice) will do the job for RTVSat viewers and the online broadcast.
RTV is also the only broadcaster this year to be broadcasting preview videos of this year’s entries. Those programmes, hosted by John himself, can already be watched on RTV1, RTVSat or even online.
It was also revealed yesterday that the spokesperson for San Marino this year will be no other that Michele Perniola (the 2013 and very first Sammarinese junior Eurovision entrant, who ended up in 10th position in Kyiv).
San Marino will send their 6th entry to Eurovision this year with “Maybe (Forse)” by Valentina Monetta (third participation in a row), and is yet to make it to the Grand Final.
If not for the song, but for its efforts and enthusiasm, the Most Serene Republic definitely deserves to qualify this year!
