SMASHING COMEBACK IN FRENCH CHARTS
Quite a surprise in the French charts this week! Céline Dion’s latest French album “Sans attendre” entered directly at #1 selling circa 100,000 copies after one week only! Critics did not acclaim her latest effort but it seems the French audience missed her very badly to give her such a spectacular welcome! The first single “Parler à mon père” is currently standing at #8 in the top single, while the second extract “Le miracle” has not been released yet. Major shows with the Canadian diva and winner of the 1988 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest are planned later this month on French TV channels and will most probably boost the single and album sales!
In the meantime, other former Eurovision participants entered the French album charts directly into the Top 10. They are Patricia Kaas (France 2009) entering at #6 with her tribute to Edith Piaf “Kaas chante Piaf” and Françoise Hardy (Monaco 1963) with her latest and very moving album “L’amour fou” at #7.
In the rest of the top album are to be found Amaury Vassili (France 2011) currently #19 with “Una parte di me”, Eurovision winner France Gall (Luxembourg 1965) entering at #141 with a triple-CD album made of her best live performances “Best of Live” and Henri Dès (Switzerland 1970) at #161 with a triple-CD compilation of his best songs for children “Les petits trésors d’Henri Dès, vol.1”. Finally, Jessy Matador (France 2010) is standing at #48 in the top single with the summer hit “Zumba he Zumba ha”
