Sietse Bakker: “errors of judgement but lessons were learned”
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – In this second part of the interview with Sietse Bakker on Eurosong.be, Event Manager of the Eurovision Song Contest, we are talking about the financial burden Eurovision was for host city Copenhagen, the upcoming jubilee celebrations, as well as the Wiener Stadthalle for this year’s edition.
The city of Copenhagen is heavily in debt after the 2014 organization. However, Sietse Bakker doubts that this scenario would repeat itself in Vienna. “Last year, a number of. Mr Bakker also praises ORF’s choice for the venue, Wiener Stadthalle. “It is a very experienced arena and we are thankful for this. Its location – in the middle of a residential area – has its advantages and drawbacks but logistics was our main concern.
