Popular singer Serge Lama, who represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest held in Dublin in 1971, is releasing today a new best-of album entitled “La balade du poète” (The poet’s walk). The new album marks his 70th birthday as well as his 50th anniversary in the show business.

On this occasion, Serge Lama selected a total of 39 tracks amongst his most famous songs including some extra materials to figure on this anniversary album. The singer re-recorded some 15 tracks among his oldest successes to give them a fresh sound and included in the album some surprises: 3 songs that he wrote as a very young boy when he was between 11 and 13 years old. His Eurovision entry “Un jardin sur la Terre” is however not included.

The album release precedes a big tour in France, Belgium and Switzerland starting in January 2013, including 9 dates in February at the Olympia in Paris marking the 40th anniversary of his first concert in this very prestigious music hall.
