Serbia 2016: RTS to reveal the Stockholm entrant by February 28th

BELGRADE, SERBIA – Serbia will present its entry for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest by February 28. Broadcaster RTS is expected to make an internal decision, although the all-female acoustic band “The Frajle” will most likely represent the country in Stockholm.
Formed in 2009, the band has become hugely successful across Serbia but also in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and FYR Macedonia. They have released three albums, all of them under RTS’ record label PGP. In 2015, the band also recorded a song with 2014 FYR Macedonia representative Tijana Dapčević.
RTS says it is negotiating but did not give out names. “Talks are in progress but I can’t reveal much”, the head of the Serbian Eurovision delegation and RTS’ music producer, Dragan Ilić, says. He adds that while the representative will be chosen internally, the broadcaster is still considering whether the entry itself will be chosen by the public.
