BUCHAREST, ROMANIA – Once thing is almost certain now, one of the national finals to follow with particular attention this year will be “Selecţia Naţională” to be held in Bucharest, Romania on March 1st.
2010 Romanian entrants, Paula and Ovi have already premiered “Miracle”, the track they will perform on the big night, and popular Stefan Stan (winner of The Voice-Romania) will also bid, along with female artist TeddyK.
To make the list of “big names” a bit longer, today, the man who got the most point for Romania in a Eurovision final to date (172), Mihai Trăistariu, has expressed his will to represent his homeland in Copenhagen.
The 2006 Romanian entrant, who was a hot favorite to get the trophy in Athens with his entry “Tornerò”, announced on his facebook page yesterday that he had received 24 songs for the competition, and that he’s in preparation to meet the February 14th deadline of submission. Out of the 24 tracks, coming from many different countries, only 2 seem to have attracted his attention, since he’s defining them as “great and perfect for Eurovision”.
Mihai also said that he’s willing to adopt the same strategy as in 2006, that is to say introducing several songs to his fans and let them pick his entry. One of those songs could also be his latest hit “E Iarna Intre Noi” (Winter is among us), released in November, if it is shorten to the 3-minute length.
The singer finished his message declaring that he does wish to be the first artist to bring the trophy to Romania, and that an official announcement on his participation to “Selecţia Naţională” will be made next week…
