Second Semifinal: Guest Editor JP gives bet tips
EDITORIAL – Hello, Eurofans! First Semifinal is over! It was an exciting event! All of our predictions qualified to the final except from the Netherlands. Many people complained about that in the social media, feeling surprised by some countries that qualified instead. At the end of the day though, a certain number of countries must be eliminated. To see the ranking of the semifinals we should wait a bit more, till the end of the competition when they will announce the number of votes. Let’s see what we can bet for the second semifinal now.
Sweden are the huge favorite to win the second semifinal. The odds of 1.40 in William Hill, however, are not tempting for me. They are the favorite to win the whole competition, but the song and the singer have attracted some bad publicity for two important reasons. First of all, the song is extremely catchy but has great resemblance to David Guetta’s “Lovers of the Sun” song. If you have listened to this song you can easily understand how.
The second reason is some controversial negative comments on gay sexuality the Swedish singer made during a tv show a few months ago. Nevertheless, until now, he undoubtedly seems to be the big favorite.
Slovenia, are the second favorite according to some bookmakers and our poll. You can find Slovenia at odds of 9 in William Hill and Unibet. You can also bet Slovenia to finish in the Top 3 at odds of 2.15 in Unibet. “Here for you” is a song that combines a good beat, an interesting voice (sounds a bit like Adele) and nice music, using the violins to create some intriguing difference. I really believe that this song has a dynamic Eurovision recipe, however their choreography in the rehearsals looked a bit weak.
Norway, with “A Monster Like Me” keep you interested. Very interested indeed! A charismatic singing duo in a chilling, storytelling performance that could also be the surprise in the semifinal. You can bet on them to win at odds of 9 in Bet365 and to make it to Top 3 at 1.75 in Unibet.
Azerbaijan is one more country which will fight for the Top 3. It’s a melodically marching song that is co-written by one of the Swedish who co-wrote the winning 2011 entry and sung by The Voice Turkey winner Elnur Hüseynov. The odds for them to be on Top 3 are 1.85 in Unibet.
Sweden will probably win this semifinal and Slovenia, Norway and Azerbaijan will battle for the remaining two spots on the Top 3.
That’s all! Listen to your feeling and you will make the right choice!
