SAN MARINO – San Marino RTV is proud to reveal the multinational team behind Serhat and San Marino’s participation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
The composer of the song is the Turkish Olcayto Ahmet Tugsuz while the lyrics are penned by the Greek Nektarios Tyrakis. They both have Eurovision experience. Olcayto took part 3 times in the International ESC Finals as “lyricist/composer/singer” for the Turkish ESC. Nektarios wrote the lyrics for ‘Shake It’, Sakis Rouvas’ entry that reached the 3rd place in 2004 and the year after he was also the lyricist for Belarus.
The San Marino song is being recorded at the Piste Rouge Studios in Brussels, arranged by the French musician Cyril Orcel who worked in France, Belgium and the United States, especially as composer for symphonical /classical music. The Belgian-African musician Guy Waku will also collaborate in future arrangements of the song (TBA).
Along with the English version there will be versions in Italian, French and other languages in collaboration with international renowned names (TBA).
The Italian lyrics are written by Mariella Nava, one of the most appreciated Italian composers and lyricists for her brilliant melodies and for the deep intensity of her lyrics. Many artists performed her songs, among whom Andrea Bocelli, Mina, Loredana Bertè, Mia Martini, Gianni Morandi, Grace Jones, Dionne Warwick and many others.
The French lyrics are written by Stéphane Laporte, author of the French versions of musicals such as Wizard of Oz, Shrek The Musical, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, Fiddler On The Roof and Grease.
And finally, we’d like to remark the multinational project by stressing Turkish citizenship of Serhat, the Italian management and the German label all taking part for San Marino in this exciting adventure. ‘We all came here together’ stated MarcoVannuzzi by 23 Music, referring to the theme of the Swedish Eurovision edition.
Serhat, who is already being referred to as “The Noble Knight of San Marino” by the international media, is in the process of recording the San Marino entry that is going to be released within the beginning of March.
