SAN MARINO – Serhat, this year’s San Marino entry at Eurovision with ‘I didn’t know’ is working hard towards Stockholm. He has left today to Baku Azerbaijan to kick off his promotional tour which will lead him to various countries like Georgia, Greece, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, FYR Macedonia & Malta amongst others.
This sunday Serhat will be also part of the Rai Radioprogramme ‘Caterpillar’ on Radio 2 during the show ‘Radiobattle’
Radiobattle is a radio programme created by the second Rai radio channel ‘Radio 2’ by Filippo Solibello, historical conductor of the Rai radio programme ‘Caterpillar’. You can also call it the ‘European Championship’ of the radios. 16 European national radios are taking part, plus Australia, right, just as the Eurovision. This is the second edition and last year it ended up with a global audience of millions of listeners from Europe, Asia and Oceania (source: Radio Rai web site). It is broadcast every Sunday from 8 to 9 pm. San Marino RTV is also taking part this year.
But how does it work?
The 16 participating countries compete against each other and the winner goes to the next step. The competition flows by airing five songs from each country which have to be related to that country. For example among our songs we had the San Marino Delayers, Valentina (yes, our ESC legend) and, of course, Serhat with ‘Je m’adore’. On February 14th San Marino won against Lithuania and now is going to compete against Slovenia which is said to be a much harder challenger. This time, among the others, we will use our Eurovision entry ‘I didn’t know’. The winner between the twos will go to the semifinals. But how can we win? By simply tweeting ‘#radiobattleSM’ during the whole length of the live show, from 8 to 9 pm on Sunday March 27th. So it is very important that all our fans and supporters tweet #radiobattleSM.
The programme has a web site, of course, which you can find here. You can listen to the previous battles or to the live show. Another useful link to listen to the programme is the Rai link to the live broadcast. Support Serhat and San Marino during this show sunday between 8 and 9pm CET!
