ATHENS, GREECE – Local media confirmed today that Salina Gavala was one of the considerations of ERT for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Today she presented her Eurovision bid entry “Love is a Game” in which she duets with Stavros Vanderbilt.
When ERT announced ARGO as the Greek representatives to the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, Salina made a statement in which she revealed that her proposal to ERT was to submit her bidding entry for a national selection and not for internal one. Here’s is the correct translation despite some sites decided to translate it in more appeasing way!
“I had prepared the song which fulfils the context and which would stand with dignity in the contest. I would happily represent Greece if democratic procedures applies within a national final and the audience had chosen the song and me. The case of internal selection doesn’t concern me because my criteria is the public opinion. I think internal selection to an unknown to the public group, is a risk. But even if the band was known to the wider audience, internal selection is a procedure with which I disagree. I believe in meritocracy and transparency.”
Not sure if you love the song but for sure we love her way of thinking!
