RUSSIA – Today’s rehearsals begin with Russia and no changes from the first run as Julia remains in the mountain singing with her backing vocals. Lots of colours on stage. Well this one has serious problems: first of all the vocals are not great and not convincing. The entire staging with the mountain is not appealing but we all know why it is happening. Julia, the banned singer of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest had to come this year in Eurovision because of the Russian ego as The Kremlin openly promised it last year. But for me it’s just a waste of money as the song of Julia this year is indifferent. The previous one (for 2017 Eurovision edition) was much much better
RUSSIA 🇷🇺 ON THE WEB
ESCKAZ.COM: On a positive note, in the studio version I think the latest part with all the repetitions of “’cause even in the darkness, even in the darkest night..” does sound better live than in studio.
ESCBUBBLE.COM: The vocals still need a little work, but it’s better than some of the previous attempts that we’ve heard.
ESCXTRA.COM: Julia’s vocals continue to improve but still struggle in the first two choruses. The live backing vocalists do well to create a wall of sound but are unable to cover up the issues during the choruses.
EUROVOIX.COM: No changes of any of the runs so far. This is borderline qualifier at best.
