BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – Tunder.be reported recently that Belgium applied to the European Broadcasting Union and VRT to make an exceptional allocation for the country to the 2nd semifinal on May 8th due to the Walloon broadcast of The Voice Belgique on May 6th which will clash with the first semifinal.
RTBF’s The Voice Belgique is the top show for the broadcaster although it’s not the one that participates in Eurovision Song Contest this year. They don’t want to postpone the broadcast of the final. They also cannot avoid to air the semifinal of Eurovision Song Contest because they will be fined by EBU like Spain in 2009.
Though the main question is: why RTBF is not postponing the broadcast of The Voice Belgique final for May 13th instead something which might have to do with sponsoring and further timetable of the broadcaster. There is no confirmation yet that the information posted on regional press are true.
