In the round up this week we have rumours, confirmed information, national selection news and more for you.
In Sweden 2015 Melodifestivalen participant Dinah Nah and the multi-ethnic Panetoz are rumoured to enter the 2016 MF edition. Panetoz entered the 2014 Melodifestivalen with “Efter solsken”. Both Dinah Nah and Panetoz made it to the final. Sigrid Bernson and Pidde Pannaka also tipped for the line up.
Turkish representative in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Hadise, is the second Eurovision star who has more than 100 million views on YouTube for her song. We are talking about “Prenses”. Celine Dion keeps the trophy of views with the song “My heart will go on”.
In Russia, Dima Bilan jobs the army. Well not in real life but in the movie Hero which is about to be released in February of 2016. The movie filmed in France and Lithuania with a huge budget and presents the history of a soldier from WWI to date.
In Armenia, the 2016 Eurovision entrant gives us another glimpse of what she is capable for Stockholm next May: today we have her cover performance of Adele’s “Rolling in the deep”
In Norway almost 1000 songs submitted to NRK. The Norwegian broadcaster officially now says there will be one final with ten acts and not semifinals again as rumoured in some websites. Submissions number is higher than 2014 and 2015. Jan-Fredrik Karlsen (MGP’s musical director), Pia Skevik (NRK P1), Marie Komissar (DJ at NRK P3) and Stig Karlsen (Head producer of MGP) will decide the ten acts.
In Latvia 120 songs by 88 artists submitted to LTV on the submission deadline. This is 20% more submissions than last year. 20 singers will make it to the next phase of Supernova. From the 88 artists who submitted songs, 57 are soloists and then 17 groups, 10 duets and 3 as “other category”. The announcement of the 20 lucky ones is expected on early December.
In Hungary now where MTV confirmed A Dal as the 2016 national selection method once again. Submissions due on November 25th. Reading the rules we see that Hungarians only are allowed to submit songs and the invitation refers to those who have established status as singers with appearances in TV / radio and contract with record labels.
After the final decline of Turkey to enter the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, Bulgaria was next to be asked as they are hosting the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 17 days. BNT answered that they will give their final answer after the event.
