Portugal 2018 🇵🇹 former Portuguese Eurovision performer José Cid criticises National final
PORTUGAL – José Cid who came seventh at the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest with the song”Um grande, grande amor”. has criticised the organisation of this year’s Portuguese National Final.
José Cid has claimed that Luísa Sobral, sister of 2017 winner Salvador Sobral, manipulates the jury, of which she forms a part. He claims that she can’t sing, as all sounds eminate from her nose and that other jury members are complete unknowns who have never had a credible music career.
He also claims the national final aims to find the next Salvador Sobral, rather than a credible representative for the Eurovision Contest. The jury for the final is comprised of Ramon Galarza, Nuno Markl, Ana Bacalhau, Carlão, Sara Tavares, Ana Markl, Mário Lopes e António Avelar Pinho.
