The show consists of 2 parts. In the first part, the contestants will sing covers of from famous Eurovision songs, while in the second part the contestants will sing their own songs. The winner will be decided by 50% televoting and 50% jury voting.
1. The Bandaloop – Waterloo
Definetly not one of the best “Waterloo” performance. The song has been changed into a 21st century song with some dubstep influences.
2. Natalia Kelly – Ne partez sans moi
Almost a perfect and modern performance of the song. Except for a two missed notes this was great.
3. Yela – Love shine a light
Not bad performance but it missed the energy. She might be keeping it for her actual song.
4. Falco Luneau – What’s another year
Very good performance, perfect I must say, but it’s far behind Johnny Logan’s performance. Anyway, we can give him some aplause for his try.
5. Elija – Euphoria:
This is probably the first time I hear “Euphoria” covered by a man. Very poor performance, not even close to Loreen. I have the sensation that he bites the notes. I must say this is the worst performance of the evening.
The second and most important part of the Contest will start in a few minutes.
Elija – Give me a sign
Falco Luneau – Rise above the night
Natália Kelly – Shine
The Bandaloop – Back to fantasy
Yela – Feels like home
1. Falco Luneau – Rise above the night
Falco is wearing classic dark suite. He is accompanied by two guitarists and backin singers. The performance is ok but it lacks something. It could finish well but I can’t say it will win.
2. Yela – Feels like home
Yela is sitting on a couch and singing. I like her dress. She is accompanied by a drumer and a guitarist. Good performance overall for a song with a ragae flavour.
3. Elija – Give me a sign
Now it’s time for some rock. Way better performance than “Euphoria”. Elija has an entire band behind him. The vocal performance is really good but the song is just average.
4. Natalia Kelly – Shine:
Now it’s time for the big favourite of the evening. A very beautiful ballad well performed. Natalia is wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of jeans. She has five backing singers. A good performance overall, but this being the big favourite I was expecting a bit more.
5. The Bandalop – Back to fantasy:
A very colorful outfit for the singer. This is not a gimmik entry but definetly sounds like one. It’s some sort of dance combined with rap. The performance is not that good.
The televoting lines are now open and a recap is shown.
The televoting has ended! While we are waiting for the results we see the other participating songs in Eurovision 2013. Yela won the jury! Natalia Kelly won the televoting and she will represent Austria in Malmo with her song “Shine”.
