COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – The winner of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, Emmelie de Forest has added another accolade to her name. The Danish singer has won the newly founded Mylle Award, named after Denmark’s famous Eurovision commentator and national final host. The award was given to Emmelie by OGAE Denmark and will be handed out on an annual basis to an individual who has done an extraordinary service to Eurovision in Denmark.
Yesterday, OGAE Denmark held its first convention. Its membership has sky rocketed since Emmelie won Eurovision. Members of the fan organisation were in good company with Soluna Samay (Denmark 2012), Mohamed Ali (2013 national final runner up) and Jørgen Mylius (Denmark’s Eurovision commentator for over two decades), after whom the award was named, were all in attendance.
Following the award ceremony, Emmelie said, “I really want to say thank you to the Danish Melodi Grand Prix fanclub. For always supporting me up and for giving me this award today, presented by Mr. Melodi Grand Prix, Jørgen de Mylius”.
