OIKOTIMES ON THE SPOT / MGP 2013: FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Oslo is slowly coming into MGP-spirit. It was cold outside, but inside the venue it was much more warm, both in temperature as well as in people’s hearts. The oikotimes.com was very well taken care about as soon as we arrived in Oslo. Compared to for example Swedish Melodifestivalen this National Final might be smaller in size, but compared to professionalism and hospitality I must say that host broadcaster NRK wins with these arrangements.
Oikotimes got a “personal assistant” that had pre-booked my interviews and that helped me to find our way around as well as answering all our questions. The size of the event makes it more accessible for those of us that are covering the event. There are 78 journalist accredited to the MGP-final, Nathalie Sprus, at NRK tells oikotimes.com. Today, we spotted one more web-journalist from abroad, apart from that mostly NRK:s own crew were around and documenting things going around. This means that things are a bit softer and more calm compared to Melodifestivalen and Eurovision. That also means that Oikotimes got longer time to do interviews!
Today, thursday it was the second day of rehearsals before the final of MGP 2013. Unlike in for example Eurovision and Melodifestivalen all rehersals are closed for the media. The first open rehersal will be tomorrow and that is the Dress Rehersal. Oikotimes spent the time visiting the artist’s lounges/dressing rooms where we were able to make video interviews with Margaret Berger, Annsofi, Adelén and with Gromth feat. Emil Solli-Tangen. These interviews will be published soon on Oikotimes!
We also got an opportunity to speak to the producer of the MGP. Stian Malme that has been producing this many times since 2004 with a few expectations. He confirms that oikotimes.com already has concluded – that MGP this year will be the best ever! Stian is very satisfied with the entries this year and how the line-up in the final has been finalized. We will also post a longer video-interview with Stian, very soon.
Another highlight of the day so far was seeing Loreen rushing past the lunch-room after she finished her rehersals. Of what oikotimes.com was able to see and hear, Loreen will have a lot of dancers with her on stage and she will not only perform Euphoria, but also Crying out your name at the final of MGP 2013.
It all looks very promising and exciting with MGP 2013! More reports follows soon!
