GREECE – Greek American TV hostess and 2006 Eurovision co hostess, Maria Menounos held her Orthodox Wedding ceremony in Greece following her civil wedding in New York. She came along with her friends ad husband in thee village of Akovos and re-united with her family and friends in a totally Greek wedding celebration. And it was amazing.
ROMANIA – Romanian media is reporting that TVR is set to host a multi city national selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The Mayor of Sucaeva said: “We received a request from Romanian Television to be partners, co-producers for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 edition. A regional final was to be held in Sucaeva in December 2018. I replied that we agreed to promote the image of the city.”
ISRAEL – KAN has invited very specific and well respected stage designers, both Israeli and foreign alike, to submit their designs. There will be weight towards. thee designs from Israeli teams. General requirements: The stage should allow for a 200 degree minimum view. Be accessible and easily traversed by camera and stage crew members. Allow for proper lighting and LED screen instillations
Have a hidden area for five back-up vocalists either in front of the stage or to the right or left of the stage. Have ample space for a Parade of Nations to occur from opposite ends of the stage (as in Kyiv and Lisbon). Be adaptable to security requirements of the hall.
MALTA – Gaia Cauchi, winner of JESC 2013, has qualified to the Six Chair Challenge round of The X Factor UK by joining forces with other competing young female singers and becoming part of a new girl group named Sweet Sense.
GERMANY – Fifteen out of the twenty artists selected to take part in the Eurovision Workshop in Cologne attended the event. The remaining five were not available due to time constraints, have musical plans for 2019 that can not be combined with the ESC or do not see themselves on the ESC stage, said Thomas Schreiber and Christoph Pelander of NDR.
