UKRAINE – Within the summer Ukrainian national broadcaster will decide and propose to the EBU’s Reference Group the host city and venue for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest edition.
Host city needs a proper venue, hotel capacity, transport, intrastructure, venues and decent international travel connections and it all seems that this will be Kyiv, the “Eurovision Jerusalem” for me personally, as it was the first Eurovision edition I attended and when Greece won.
NTU’s General Director Victoria Romanova and HoD
“People fear we do not have enough money to host the contest in Ukraine. I hope that this fear will soon become a source of pride and joy for the whole Ukraine. We need some additional funding, but this is an issue that must be resolved.”
It is no secret that Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex is rumoured to host the event but it doesn’t have a complete roof, a prerequisite for the EBU to hold the event. Of course Sports Palace (where 2005 Eurovision Song Contest took place) is also a good option for NTU. No matter where it will take place we are sure NTU will provide great facilities and WiFI not to mention great as in 2005 transportation.
After all Kyiv has been totally revamped since 2005 and it’s amazing. Our visit in Kyiv in 2013 for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will always remain a big memory. Ukraine is the first CIS country to win the contest twice!
