November 14: Maltese President supports… Belarus!
VALLETTA, MALTA – Malta President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca will vote for Belarusian contestant Nadezhda Misyakova at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014, BelTA has learned. The head of the Belarusian delegation to Junior Eurovision 2014 Olga Salamakha said that the President of Malta attended the rehearsal at Malta Shipbuilding and said that she will support the Belarusian contestant and will vote for the Belarusian song Sokal (Falcon).
Nadezhda Misyakova took to the stage for the first time when she was eight years old. She is member of the Zaranak vocal ensemble (the Vladimir Mulyavin National Center of Music Arts, the vocal studio of Vasily Senkov). The young singer took part in various projects and competitions, including The Land Under White Wings (1st prize), Maladzіchok (1st prize), European Cup (Grand Prix), Crimean Waves (1st prize), New Names (1st prize), Golden Bee (2nd prize), Wind Rose (2nd prize), the children’s TV project I Sing, and the national radio contest Young Talents of Belarus. Nadezhda is a fan of Lana Del Rey.
The song Sokal (Falcon) written by the 14-year-old contestant is based on the fairy-tale “Finist the Bright Falcon”. The Belarusian singer Yuzari made the arrangement. Nadezhda Misyakova will perform on the Junior Eurovision stage together with the dance group Vegas Dance.
