November 12: the EBU / PBS press conference
VALLETTA, MALTA – This afternoon the European Broadcasting Union and Malta’s national broadcaster PBS representatives gave a press conference in Malta.
EBU’s Vladislav Yakovlev said that Malta is an amazing country and he is happy with the hosting thanking PBS for their hard work. He is proud to have brought 16 countries here and he hopes for more countries in the future.
Head of PBS said that it’s a pleasure for them to hold such a big and international even despite the risks they took pBS only aim is to make the country proud of it. They are all excited that they made a venue, a press centre, a social program and production of postcards suitable for the audience of such an event.
Selecting Marsa Shipyard as the venue was a challenge but also they want to host more than 2,000 people which is the usual audience number in events. The Maltese organisers also wanted to involve schools in the event and encouraged them to embrace the country they were assigned to.
Although the President of Malta and the Prime Minister openly expressed in favour of hosting again the event if Malta wins on Saturday, PBS officially states that there is no comment on it and we will discuss this on Monday if the country wins. In the meantime the trophy was also presented.
